It's no secret that breakfast is the most important meal of your overall health and weight loss. But What exactly do you eat to help rev up for metabolism, fill you up for weight loss? Check out these healthy breakfast options below to help you get your day started on the right track!

#1 Oatmeal
This is actually my favorite breakfast option next to eggs, I like to mix in a tsp of natural peanut butter and some sliced banana YUM! Despite what everyone says not all carbs are bad for you or prevent you from losing weight, it's all about having the RIGHT carbs which can mean more energy, better digestion, and a healthy weight. Many breakfast recipes include COMPLEX carbohydrates, which come from fiber and WHOLE GRAINS. Fiber helps to fill you up so that you are less hungry between meals and it aids in digestion (keepin it regular is ALWAYS go ;) )
Oatmeal is also very low in calories, high in fiber and it's one of those foods that can keep you feeling full all morning. The only common mistake that a lot of people make is adding all the sugary toppings! AVOID oatmeal packets as they usually have lots of extra sugar and calories in them opt to make your own. Once cooked you can add a tbsp of honey and cinnamon for a low calorie breakfast!
#2 Protein Shakes

Making your own protein shake is ALWAYS better than buying the sugar packed ones from the smoothie shop down the road, you can control what goes into it and avoid the extra sugar and unhealthy preservatives. Using your blender you can whip up a nice healthy Shake in minutes, I suggest adding Shakeology to your smoothie to help add PROTEIN and to make sure you are getting your daily dose of dense nutrition. Below are a few of my favorite recipes that I have used to help in my weight loss journey!
(With each recipe you can add a little water to make it less thick)
1. 1 Scoop Chocolate Shakeology, 1 Cup Unsweetened Almond Milk, 1 Tbsp Peanut butter, Ice to taste.
2. 1 Scoop Greeberry Shakeology, 1 Cup Unsweetened Vanilla Almond Milk, 1 medium Banana, Ice to taste
3. 1 Scoop Vanilla Shakeology, 1 Cup Unsweeted Vanilla Almond Milk, 1/2 Small Banana, 1/2 Cup Strawberries, Ice to taste
Get creative with your own recipes, changing up the berries and try adding other ingredients, for a healthy breakfast you can have on the run. Follow me on Facebook for more awesome recipe ideas!

#3 Yogurt Parfaits
This is another AWESOME recipe to try as you can pretty much make it to suit your taste, so many different add ins to make it fun! Use PLAIN GREEK YOGURT, as the flavored ones have a lot of added sugar that you just don't need! Below is one of my favorite recipes to use but feel free to experiment! I also like to feel fancy sometimes and use a tall glass and layer my ingredients and then have a selfie sesh showing off my creation, but you totally don't have to =) I am just weird like that!
I like to start off with 1/2 cup plain greek yogurt, 1/4 cup blueberries, 1/4 cup instant oatmeal (uncooked) and then I will repeat those layers but instead of blueberries I will either do pineapple or banana. If you are feeling a little frisky you can top it all off with a little flax seed or wheat germ!
But like I mentioned above and with the Protein shakes get creative and try adding in other healthy ingredients.
#4 Bran Muffins

Bran muffins is another favorite on the go recipe! And like oatmeal, bran muffins can give you the fiber you need to stay full all morning and keep you regular! The only problem is the store bought bran muffins contain A LOT of sugar so I suggest you try and make your own with a LOW SUGAR Bran muffin recipe.
What I like to do is i'll find a low sugar bran recipe online and add to it, i'll add 1/2 cup instant oatmeal, 1/4 cup flax-seed and 1/4 cup oat bran along with a tsp of cinnamon to taste. The batter should be the consistency of lumpy cake batter, so add another beaten egg and a tbsp water or more if needed. With the addition to the extra bran and fiber you add to the muffins it will reduce the amount of sugar in each muffin and make for a very filling healthy breakfast! I also like to top my muffins with nuts or fruit to make it fun for the kids (apple is there favorite topping)
Having a variety in your diet will not only help you stay on track and not get bored but it is also a way to get all the vitamins, fiber and other healthy elements that you need for weight loss and to stay healthy! So mix these breakfasts recipes up throughout the week.
